5,000 affected by college data breach

More than 20 employees with St. Louis Community College fell victim to a phishing attack that caused a data breach for an additional 5,000 students, faculty and staff members. “Sensitive” information such as names, phone numbers, email and home addresses, dates of birth and college A numbers were leaked, according to a Feb. 4 email from Keith Hacke, STLCC chief information officer. Student’s artwork focuses on growing problem of plastic waste

A peculiar figure has taken up residence on a bench on the fourth floor of G Tower. He’s made of clear packing tape and surrounded by milk jugs, egg cartons, water bottles and plastic bags that flow into the hallway. There’s even a pizza box. “The person represents a man looking into the ocean at the trash that pollutes the sea,” said Christy Lin, 39, a fine arts student who created the sculpture. […]

Adjunct union creates ‘bill of rights’

Robison pleads guilty of stealing $7.5 million

September 20, 2019

A former St. Louis Community College employee has pleaded guilty to 15 federal charges related to the theft of $7.5 million from the college and state of Missouri. As part of a plea agreement in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, Donald Robison, 57, of Ballwin, admitted to stealing the money over 20 years. “From August 1998 to November 2018, Robison stole millions of dollars allocated for New and Retained Job Training Programs established by the Missouri Department of Economic Department,” according to an Aug. 14 news release from Assistant U.S. Attorney Lindsay McClure-Hartman.
